👥 Using Multiple Professional Profiles (and Multiple Resumes)

How to run more than one job search at once: a separate profile, resume, and saved searches for each career direction you're pursuing.

If you're pursuing more than one kind of role (say marketing and project management), you don't have to choose one and hope for the best. Sprout lets you create a separate professional profile for each direction, with its own resume and its own saved searches.

👥 What is a professional profile?

Think of it as one job search, kept separate from your others. Each professional profile has:

  • Its own resumes and parsed background

  • Its own saved searches and filters

  • Its own documents: the resume and cover letter Sprout applies with

  • Its own application history and weekly stats

Everything else stays shared across your whole account: your personal details, your credits, your applications, your emails, and your review queue. You're not setting up a second account, just a second angle on your search.

You give each one a name, usually the career track it represents, for example Marketing or Operations.

If you were using Sprout before profiles existed, you'll be asked once to name the profile you already have. Everything you'd built up carries straight into it.

➕ Creating another profile

A professional profile starts with a resume. To add one:

  1. Open the profile switcher (the top bar on web, or the profile pill on the Jobs screen on mobile)

  2. Choose New

  3. Upload the resume for that career direction

  4. Give the profile a name

Sprout reads the resume you upload and builds out that profile's details from it, so use the resume that best represents the roles you want in that track.

🔄 Switching between profiles

Web: use the profile switcher in the top bar.

Mobile: tap the profile pill on the Jobs screen to switch profile, choose All profiles, or start a new one.

Whichever profile is active determines:

  • Which jobs you're shown

  • Which resume and cover letter get submitted

  • Which saved searches you see

There's also an All profiles view, which shows every profile's active search in one list. Each job card is tagged with the profile that found it, and the apply button names the profile you'd be applying as, so you can work the whole search at once without losing track of which hat you're wearing.

Before you apply, the Applying with label shows exactly which documents will be sent. Tap or click it to change them.

🏷️ Your applications are tagged by profile

Once you have more than one profile, each application records the profile it was made with. Your applications board tags them, filters by them, and lets you move an application to a different profile from its ⋯ menu.

Applications you sent before you had profiles show as Unassigned until you move them. They still work exactly as normal. The tag is only for your own organisation.

⚡ Do extra profiles cost extra?

No. Creating additional professional profiles is free, and there's no separate subscription for each one.

Credits are shared across all of your profiles. They belong to your account, not to any single profile, so applying from your Marketing profile draws from the same balance as your Operations profile.

✏️ Renaming and deleting profiles

Go to Profile → Professional to see a card for each profile you've created. From the menu on each card you can rename it or delete it.

Deleting a profile removes its resumes, saved searches, and settings. Applications you already sent from it stay in your history. Deleting a profile doesn't withdraw anything you've already applied to. Those applications become Unassigned, and you can move them to another profile.
