If you have Manual Review turned on in the Sprout web app, any job you swipe right on will be placed into your Review Queue instead of being submitted immediately.
This gives you a chance to look over everything first and make changes so each application is as strong as possible.
Where to Find Your Review Queue
In the web app, click Review in the left sidebar.
You’ll see a list of jobs waiting for your approval, along with the type of review needed and when each item was added.
The Two Types of Reviews
1) Document Review (Resume & Cover Letter)
For these jobs, you can open and directly edit:
Your resume
Your cover letter
Tap Edit at the top to make manual changes, or tap Regenerate if you want Sprout to create a fresh version.
You can tweak wording, add or remove bullet points, and tailor content to better match the role before submission.
2) Question Review
Some jobs include employer-style questions or additional context prompts.
These questions help us understand:
What you did day-to-day in past roles
Key responsibilities and tools you used
Outcomes and results you achieved
What type of work you’re strongest at
Your answers are saved and used to build a richer profile about your background.
Over time, this means:
You’ll be asked fewer questions
Applications become faster
Your resume and cover letters become more accurate and personalized
We only ask new questions when we need better info to maximize your chances for a specific job.
Tip: After you type your answer, Sprout will automatically use AI to reword and polish it for you. You can keep responses simple and conversational. No need to make them perfect.
What Happens After You Review
Once you’re done:
Approve the documents or questions
Submit the application
Sprout then sends the finalized application on your behalf.
Why Manual Review Is Helpful
More control over each application
Better customization per job
Stronger resumes and cover letters over time
Higher-quality submissions without extra manual work
If you prefer fully automated submissions, you can turn off Manual Review in AI Settings. Otherwise, keeping it on gives you the best balance of speed and control.
