Changed your mind about a job sitting in your Review Queue? Because Manual Review holds applications back until you approve them, nothing is sent to the employer until you say so. Here's how it works. 🗂️

If you have Manual Review turned on in the Sprout app, any job you swipe right on is placed into your Review Queue instead of being submitted immediately.

To see it, click Review in the left sidebar of the web app. You'll see every job waiting for your approval, along with the type of review needed and when each item was added.

This is the important part: an application only goes out once you approve the documents or questions and submit it. If you never do that, Sprout does not send it on your behalf.

So if you simply don't want a job to go out, leaving it unapproved keeps it from being submitted.

Decided not to move forward with a job? You can cancel it directly in your Applications tab — as long as we haven't finished generating your tailored resume and cover letter for that role yet.

Click into Applications -> Hover over the job in question -> Select the 3 dots at the top right of the job card -> Press Cancel

Once your documents have been generated, the Cancel option is no longer available.

Credits are deducted when you swipe right, because that's the moment Sprout starts generating your documents for that role.

If you cancel before generation finishes, the credit is automatically returned to your balance. If your documents have already been generated, the work has been done and the credit stays used.

Items in your Review Queue don't expire and are never submitted automatically. They stay there until you submit them.

So if your documents have already been generated and you no longer want the job to go out, just leave it unapproved — it will never be sent.
