✍️ AI Generated Resume and Cover Letters

How Sprout tailors your resume and cover letter to each job, and where to see exactly what was sent.

Sprout automatically tailors your resume and writes a unique cover letter for each job you apply to. This helps you stand out, without having to rewrite anything yourself.

Here’s what happens behind the scenes:

📄 Custom Resume for Every Application

When you swipe right on a job, Sprout generates a resume that emphasizes the experience and skills that match that specific job post.

  • We use the resume you uploaded (and LinkedIn profile, if linked)

  • The resume is adjusted to highlight what matters most for that role

  • It’s sent automatically with your application, no extra steps

This helps you stand out with a resume tailored to each job in seconds. ✅

✍️ AI-Generated Cover Letter

Along with your resume, each application includes a custom-written cover letter tailored to the job and employer.

  • The letter is based on your background and the job description

  • It’s designed to feel personal and relevant, not generic

You can view the exact cover letter that was sent by tapping the “Applications” tab, then selecting the application you want to view. You’ll see everything that was submitted, and you can tap “Generated Cover Letter” to view the exact version that was sent.

✍️ How to Turn On/Off AI-Generated Cover Letters or Resumes

Sprout gives you the option to include an AI-generated cover letter or resume

with each application, or turn them off if you prefer to use your own materials.
You’re always in control.

Here’s how to adjust those settings:

  1. Open the Profile tab
    ​

  2. Tap the gear icon (⚙️) to open Settings
    ​

  3. Look for the AI Options section
    ​

  4. Use the toggle next to AI Generated Cover Letter to turn it on or off
    ​

  5. Tap into AI Generated Resume to:

    • Toggle resume generation on or off

    • Optionally enable Condense Resume Info (to simplify formatting)

    • Preview the generated version by tapping Generate PDF
      ​

📌 If both options are turned off, Sprout will use your uploaded resume without adding any AI-generated documents.

✍️ Review Each Generated Resume / Cover Letter Before Applying

You can now choose to review and approve every generated resume or cover letter before Sprout submits your applications.

To enable this option:

  1. Go to your Profile tab.

  2. Tap the ⚙️ Settings icon (top right).

  3. Under Resume or Cover Letter, turn on “Require Manual Approval.”

Once enabled, you’ll get a chance to look over each document and regenerate if needed before it’s sent out.
