Short answer: no — the email address and sign-in method on a Sprout account can't be changed after the account is created. We know that's not the answer you were hoping for, so here's exactly what that means and what you can do instead. 🙂
🔒 Why it's fixed
Your login email is what ties everything on your account together — your subscription, your credits, your application history, and the employer conversations linked to your applications. It's set when you first sign up, whether that was with an email address, Apple, or Google, and it stays as your permanent identifier.
That also means we can't move an account from an Apple or Google sign-in over to an email login, or the other way round.
✅ What you can do
Keep using the account as it is. The login email is only used to sign you in. It isn't shown to employers, and it isn't the address your applications are sent from — see below. If the only issue is that you no longer love the address, nothing is actually broken.
Start fresh on a new account. If you truly need a different login, you'd create a new account with the email you want. Before you do, please check with us first — especially if you have an active subscription or unused credits, because those stay attached to the original account and we'll need to help you sort out the billing side so you don't end up paying twice.
⚠️ Your application history, saved documents, and employer replies do not transfer between accounts.
🧭 Three different emails — make sure you mean this one
Sprout involves a few different email addresses, and it's easy to mix them up:
Your login email — how you sign in to Sprout. Permanent. This article.
The address Sprout applies with — either a Gmail alias or a
@whisperpost.ioaddress, depending on whether you've connected Gmail. Employer replies reach your personal inbox either way. It's meant to look unfamiliar, and it isn't something you set. See Why is the email on my job applications not my personal email?Employer portal logins — if a job required creating an account on the company's own site, Sprout saves those details for you under Application Credentials (Applications tab → tap the job → Application Credentials). Those are the company's credentials, not your Sprout ones.
If what you actually wanted was to find a code an employer sent you, that's a different thing — see Finding a Verification Code an Employer Sent to Your Sprout Email.
