If Sprout generates a resume or cover letter that gets something wrong, you can tell us from the document itself. Reports go straight to the team and feed into improving how documents are written.
🚩 Reporting the whole document
🚩 Reporting the whole document
While reviewing an AI-generated document:
Web: the flag in the action bar.
Mobile: Report.
Cover letters can only be reported this way, as a whole document.
🎯 Reporting one specific thing
🎯 Reporting one specific thing
On a resume, you can be far more precise. In the What changed view, the ⋯ menu on any bullet, entry or section includes a report option.
This is much more useful than flagging the whole resume. Pointing at the exact line tells us what went wrong and where, instead of leaving us to guess which part you meant.
📋 What you can report
📋 What you can report
You'll be asked what is wrong:
Made up or not true: it says something you never did
Wrong information: a date, title, company or detail is incorrect
Left out something important: something from your profile should be there
Formatting or layout: it looks wrong, or the PDF differs from the editor
Something else: tell us in your own words
There's a Details box for explaining in your own words. It's optional for most reasons and required for Something else, but it's worth filling in either way. One sentence of context is often the difference between a report we can act on and one we can't.
📸 What happens to your report
📸 What happens to your report
Each report saves a copy of the document exactly as it was at that moment, then goes to the team to review.
That means you don't need to keep the bad version around as evidence, and you can regenerate or edit straight away without losing what you reported.
🛠️ Reporting doesn't fix your document
🛠️ Reporting doesn't fix your document
Worth being clear about: a report is feedback to us, not a repair. It won't change the document in front of you, and you shouldn't wait on it before applying.
To fix the document itself, two faster routes:
Edit it directly: during review you can change the wording yourself before submitting
Set a rule and regenerate: in What changed, mark something as always included, always as written, or hidden, then regenerate. That fixes this resume and, if you choose, every future one.
Do both where it matters: fix it for yourself now, and report it so it stops happening.
⚠️ If something was made up
⚠️ If something was made up
This is the one to take seriously. An AI resume should only draw on what's in your professional profile. If it states experience you don't have, report it as Made up or not true and check the rest of the document before sending anything.
It's also the strongest argument for keeping Review Documents switched on. That's the step where you'd catch it.
If details come out wrong consistently, your profile is usually where to fix it:
