📥 Restore Purchase Says "Success" But I Still Can't Apply

What to do when Restore Purchase reports success but your subscription still isn't unlocked — account mismatches, cross-platform purchases, and web subscriptions.

You've tapped Restore Purchase, the app said it worked — and you still can't apply to jobs, or your credits are showing as zero. Frustrating, and almost always fixable. Here's what's usually going on. 📥

🧐 What "success" actually means

That message confirms the app checked with the store and finished the request. It does not confirm it found a subscription. So a "success" with nothing unlocked normally means the store had no purchase to hand back for the account you're currently signed in to — which points at one of the mismatches below.

👤 You're signed in to a different Sprout account

This is the most common cause by a distance. It's easy to create a second account without meaning to — signing up with your email the first time and then tapping Continue with Google or Continue with Apple later creates a separate account, even with the same email address on it.

Your subscription stays attached to the account that bought it. Check the email shown on your Profile tab and confirm it's the one on your purchase receipt.

💡 If they don't match, don't buy again — reply here and we'll sort out which account holds the subscription.

🍎 You're on a different Apple ID or Google account

Restore Purchase asks the app store you're signed in to. If you've changed Apple ID or Google account, or you're on a family member's device, the store won't return your purchase. Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to subscribe, then try again.

🔁 You bought on one platform and you're using another

Purchases made through the App Store can only be restored on iOS, and purchases made through Google Play can only be restored on Android. Restore Purchase can't reach across stores.

And if you subscribed on the web, there's nothing in the app store to restore at all — your subscription is tied to your Sprout account rather than to a store. Signing in with the account you purchased with should give you access; if it doesn't, reply here.

🛠️ Quick things worth trying first

  1. Fully close and reopen the app

  2. Go to Profile⚙️ SettingsRestore Purchase and try once more

  3. Delete and reinstall the app, then sign in and restore

⚠️ If none of that works, please stop there rather than purchasing again — a second subscription won't unlock the first one and we'd only have to refund it.

📩 Send Us This and We'll Fix It

We can look directly at what the store recorded against your account. To get it fixed in one round trip rather than five, reply here with:
